Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect as little as possible, and we don't sell anything about you.
Effective July 10, 2026
What we collect
GodScholar does not require an account to read Scripture or use any part of the site. We do not run advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information. Our hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability; these are retained only as long as operations require.
Reading preferences
Reader settings — such as your preferred translation or whether verse numbers are shown — are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Embedded players and third parties
Podcast pages embed players from third-party hosts (such as Castbox and Pod.co). Talks and debates stream from the Cold & Lonely Truth podcast’s hosting provider. When you use those players, the provider may collect playback data and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Book pages link to Amazon; if you follow those links, Amazon’s privacy policy applies.
Future features
If we introduce reader accounts or other features that store personal data, this policy will be updated first, and any such data will be used only to provide the feature it was collected for.
